Shortline Intermodal
Shortlines in FYM are anything smaller than the Big 7 and fall under the Shortlines heading on the TSARs. However, some of these "shortlines" are good size railroads in their own right and are labeled as Class II railroads by the FRA. Most railroads outside the Big 7 don't do a lot of intermodal business, save for the handful of switching operations that handle those chores for the Class I railroads at certain terminals. Not taking into account those railroads that do intermodal haulage for bigger railroads (notably Montana Rail Link for BNSF), there are two Class II railroads that offer their own intermodal service.
Both Florida East Coast and Iowa Interstate have built a sizeable IM timetable, with FEC basically having a lock on the East Florida IM trade. Listed below are each railroads intermodal terminals:
